Elected to serve the 34th House District in November, 2009, Barbara currently serves on the Transportation Committee, the Science and Technology Committee and the General Laws Committee. Barbara was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Governor’s Economic Development and Job Creation Commission and, also, was appointed by the Speaker to serve on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission. Barbara also serves on The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board. This summer Barbara was selected as one of 50 state legislators to participate in the “Emerging Political Leaders” program sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. She is a 25- year+ resident of McLean.
