David was born and raised in Newport News. David has been involved in his family’s business, real estate and investments, since 2001. In 2003, he started his own business which included real estate development and property management. In 2009 he also started a commercial fishing venture. David holds Virginia professional licenses in Real Estate, Contracting, and Commercial Fishing. He is a member of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the York County Chamber of Commerce, the Denbigh Business Alliance, the Downtown Newport News Merchants & Neighbors Alliance, and the Poquoson Business Alliance. In 2011, David was appointed as a board member to the City of Newport News Efficiency Task Force on City Government. This one year task force is a citizen committee, chaired by the Mayor of Newport News and a Member of the City Council, designed to look at innovative ways to improve the role of government in Newport News. David has worked with city staff to find ways to improve city services, reduce costs and debt burdens, and discover ways in which to help local people invest in the community and create jobs.
