Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn was elected to represent the 41st district (Burke, West Springfield, and parts of Fairfax and Fairfax Station) in the House of Delegates in a special election in March 2010.
Ms. Filler-Corn brings over 17 years of extensive governmental, legal and political experience to the House of Delegates.
Delegate Filler-Corn served Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as Senior Advisor to the Governor for State and Federal Relations and prior to that served as Deputy Director of the Virginia Liaison Office, under Governor Mark R. Warner for all 4 years of his Administration. In this role, she was responsible for leading Gov. Warner’s successful tenure as Chairman of the NGA, SGA and the Appalachian Regional Commission. She chaired the NGA Executive Committee Staff Advisory Council and was the Staff Chair of the bi-partisan NGA Medicaid Working Group. She was also responsible for overseeing interactions between the Governor’s office in Richmond and the National Governors’ Association (NGA), Southern Governors’ Association, executive branch agencies and other Federal and State organizations. In addition to representing the Commonwealth’s interests through the Virginia Liaison Office on Capitol Hill, Ms. Filler-Corn served as an advisor to the Governor on a variety of issues including Health and Human Services and Education and was appointed a member of the Governor’s Real ID Taskforce.
